To make your Wikipedia editing experience good, do the following:

Activity 1:

• Go to your Preferences (also available through the menu in the top right of Wikipedia after logging in)
  • Go to Editing.
  • Scroll down to the pull down menu “Editing mode” and if it does not say "Show me both editor tabs” change it so that it does. Then save the change (button at the bottom). From now on, you can edit English Wikipedia in either visual editor or code editor (note: if you want the same functionality on Chinese or Korean or other Wikipedias, you have to change your preferences there accordingly)

Activity 2: To make code editing easier, go to your Preferences, Gadgets, and enable the gadget called "Syntax highlighter". From now on, code in code editing mode will be colorized making it easier to see.

Activity 3. Enable to following gadgets to save time in future classes (they will be useful for some future activities): "Prosesize", "Twinkle", "HotCat", "Display an assessment of an article's quality in its page header", "Install scripts without having to manually edit JavaScript files", "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange".
