Hans Christopher Brofeldt (born February 21, 1982) is an American actor currently residing in Venice, Los Angeles. He is best known for his role of John Baker in the movie Dreamland (2019 film), which debuted at Tribeca Film Festival, featuring Margot Robbie and Travis Fimmel.[1]
Hans made his film debut playing the role of Randy Weaver in Paramounts 6 part mini-series Waco (miniseries), starring Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch.[2] He has since appeared in several notable films and television series since including Dreamland (2019 film), Model Citizen (2019), NBC's Midnight, Texas, and Hulu's Light as a Feather (TV series).[3]
Early life
Hans, the son of a Swedish doctor and an American flight attendant, was born in Northern California but spent the first year of his life in Playa Del Rey, Los Angeles, before moving to Sacramento, where he was raised. After graduating high school he attended Cal State Long Beach, where he studied pre-med before deciding upon a career in acting.[4]
Career
Hans began his acting career doing print and commercial work while also studying acting out of Los Angeles.[5] His first film role was in 2012 little known film called The Take. Over the course of the next few years he appeared in a number of short films including Far Between, Light of Night, andLockdown.[6] In 2017 he made his first television appearance guest starring as Randy Weaver in Paramount Network's Waco.[7] His first major film role was in Dreamland (2019), where he played alcoholic patriarch John Baker.[8] His most recent works are The Purple Iris and Progeny, films set to release in fall 2019.[9]
