Hi there, I'm GrabUp. I've been on Wikipedia since 2021, and my main focuses are new pages and redirects reviewing, countering vandalism, reviewing pending changes, creating film and politics related articles, removing promotional spam articles through CSDs or AFDs, occasionally removing sponsored citations and links, creating redirects and lastly sometimes assess unassessed articles.
My AfD votes can be found here, I have participated in 321 AfD as of March 20, 2025, I majorly participate AfD discussions that are related to South Asia, Bio, Films, and Political person. My match rate with the result is 91.4%.
My CSD records can be found here. I am actively tagging pages that are promotional and violate copyrights. Sometimes my tags are declined, but most of the time, they are accepted.

On June 6, 2024, I was partially blocked by Joe Roe from all PERM pages for “Repeated Disruptive PERM Requests.” On that day, I went to Extraordinary Writ’s talk page (since they had declined my previous request) to ask for feedback regarding my NPP permission. They told me to wait longer. However, since Extraordinary Writ had known me for quite some time, I thought it would be beneficial to get an independent review of my work, as I was confident that my contributions warranted at least a trial.
The following day, I went to The Night Watch’s (username changed) talk page to ask for their review. However, Josh immediately responded, asking if the feedback I received from Writ wasn’t sufficient. This message came before Night Watch had a chance to review my request, and I felt that my purpose for being there was thwarted. I believed Night Watch would not and could not disagree with Extraordinary Writ’s review, given their respect within the community. I felt discouraged after Night Watch also advised me to wait.
In frustration and anger, I went to the NPP permission page and requested the right, explaining that they were only telling me to wait without providing any reasons for declining my request. Ingenuity declined my request, stating, “multiple admins told you to wait.” Josh also commented there, and in my anger, I displayed some inappropriate behavior towards them. Afterward, Joe Roe blocked me. I then tagged multiple admins on my talk page, expressing my concern that they weren’t giving me valid reasons for my decline. But Josh provided some valid reasons, including the need for possible maintenance tags, which I dismissed as minor issues. Several editors advised me to calm down.
Fast forward to today, I realize that my actions were completely my mistake, and none of the admins were at fault. I personally apologized to Joe Roe and Josh.
My first mistake was not waiting and instead approaching Extraordinary Writ for feedback within a month of my last decline.
My second mistake was obviously going to The Night Watch and the NPP right page and behaving poorly in my anger.
What I learned: I should have waited and worked on what they advised me to do. I need to build trust and give them time to assess my work. I was overly eager to obtain the NPP right to review new articles. Now that several months have passed, I don’t want to repeat those mistakes. I am writing this on my user page to explain to everyone in one place the reason behind my block and what I have learned from it. Rights are not for personal benefits but to help others; for example, having NPP rights would help reduce the New Pages Review backlog, and it would not assist me with anything related to my editing. I am now focused on rebuilding the trust I slightly lost on June 6 and will not request further permissions unless they are necessary for me or offered to me.
Thanks, and happy editing! GrabUp - Talk 17:32, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
