Peter Savich is a Canadian computer scientist, lawyer, and investor.[1]

Savich played basketball on the Preston High School team.[1][2] When it came time to attend University he chose nearby University of Waterloo, where he studied Computer Science and played basketball on the Waterloo Warriors. Savich was recognized as one of the team's best players, and his jersey number, 21, was retired, when he retired from the team -- only the third time a retiring player was honored in this manner. Savich earned a Bachelor of Mathematics in 1985, and his Master in 1987.

Savich attended Stanford Law School in California, earning a law degree in 1992.[3] As one of the top students in his class Savich was entitled to be enrolled in the order of the coif.

In 2002 he became the 8th awardee of the J.W. Graham Medal, named in honor of Wes Graham an early influential Professor of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, and annually awarded to an influential alumnus of the the University's Faculty of Mathematics.[4]

After founding his own successful software firm Savich joined the Stanford Entrepreneurs Alumni Group.[5]

Savich self-published a memoir, entitled: "Personality and the Brain: A hacker's journey".[6]
