Business economics
Article Evaluation
For my digital campaign, I am creating a blog that highlights women in leadership throughout all fields of study: business, medicine, sports, public service, entertainment and more. I chose this article in particular because business economics is such a huge part of understanding all aspects of business. Since my campaign focuses on analyzing the "how" of achieving success in each workplace, I thought it would be both beneficial and important to learn more about the inner workings of business.
After reading the article, I found that the Lead was well detailed without being overly complicated to confuse the reader. It gave a general summary about what business economics is, but did not introduce specific topics that it would later elaborate in the article. While the information listed in the section was valuable, it was in no way concise as it described certain points that were not mentioned again throughout the page.
The content itself, however, was extremely relevant to the topic and taught more than the general knowledge I previously had on business economics. On the other hand, the article contained a large sections known as "Interpretations from various universities" that described the wide range of courses around the world that teach economics differently, but did not elaborate on the different definitions. I feel like this space could have been better developed or used for other information like how or why there are so many variations of the word.
From what I have researched, the article is up-to-date, with the latest modification being on March 24, 2020 and reliable with its sources. In the section for interpretations, each university is linked with its proper Wikipedia page and the information is cited accordingly. As for the rest of the citations, all of them are referred to with other reliable sources including multiple books on business economics and a few research papers made by scholars in the field. To make sure of this, I opened each link and located the corresponding information to the best of my ability.
In regards to the quality, cohesion and overall status of the article, I believe it gives an incredibly accurate definition of what business economics is, but is lacking in more in depth examples to complete the work. It is easy to understand, but for others who may need more guidance, it is not fully elaborated for the facility of consumer use. Besides this, the article follows the neutrality rules of Wikipedia, as the topic is primarily factual and not heavily opinionated in a way that could be offensive to a particular audience.

Management
Article Evaluation
Management is imperative to any profitable business environment and flow. I felt this article resonated with my digital campaign because management is the most direct comparison society has for leadership in the business world. As my project is developing, I thought it would be important for me to get a better idea of what management is for my personal life and the work I am doing for this course. The Lead sentence of this article describes it perfectly– "Management (or managing) is the administration of an organization." [1] From my previous knowledge and from what I have learned after reading this article, the basis of management in all ways focuses on organization. Whether it is organizing people, stores, finances, etc., it takes an abundance of strategies and coordination to execute the task to perfection. Of all the articles I have evaluated, I found this one to be the most detailed, well-arranged and closely aligned with the Wikipedia guidelines. The Lead paragraphs included a brief description of the main points in the article without providing too much information that distracts the reader. It encapsulated the central ideas which were taken into greater detail later in the passage and did not contain anything unrelated to the topic.
The last edit to this article was on March 15, 2020 with minor adjustments. After going through each link one by one and checking its accuracy, I believe it is fair to say that this article's content is up-to-date with reliable sources to back it up. In total, this article includes 37 citations, where the majority are taken from books on management and other scholarly papers on business practices. While the passage is the most lengthy of the ones I have read thus far for this course, each claim does not appear without the corresponding source along with an in-depth explanation on the subject being analyzed.
Not only is each point mentioned in the Lead reiterated with their own section further along in the passage, but they are also interpreted thoroughly which would give any reader a clear understanding on the points of the article. After reviewing the article, I had a clear awareness of business management and felt more comfortable discussing topics like this in my digital campaign. Overall the article was detailed, free of grammatical errors, and extremely well developed, making it very difficult to find a point for improvement.

Activism
Article Evaluation
This article I also thought was highly relevant to my digital campaign on awareness to women in positions leadership. Activism is a large factor in what makes individuals rise up and fulfill positions on influence they are meant to occupy. From what I have studied for my project, women who finally decide to open a business, begin a movement or start a public service organization are those whose whose who are driven by passion and a need to change something in society. This article on activism highlights people's efforts to create a kind of reform in their everyday lives to societal betterment. It begins by introducing the general idea of activism, then discussing the history of activism throughout the years, to later going in depth on the different types that have strengthened the concept to be what it is today.
Like the others, the Lead in this passage is also filled with valuable information for the rest of the page. It describes the importance of these movements such as the Women's Liberation March and the Civil Rights March on Washington without showing a bias or certain code of belief from the writer(s). In an article like this, it is imperative to keep a neutral tone since activism can be seen in a variety of ways to people. This page, however, maintained an factual approach that did not seek to sway the reader to one side or the other.
With the array of activist types and other material mentioned throughout this article, it is inevitable that many sources were required to be listed. As I was reviewing the passage, I could not find a single claim that was not supported by a credible source citation. While there were multiple examples, I did notice that contrary to the up-to-date edit made on March 4, 2020, there have been countless activist movements that have occurred and are not mentioned in this article. The writer should strive to give the readers the latest examples on Wikipedia so that the content goes along with progress being made as of now. Nevertheless, as a whole I believe this excerpt on activism is reliable and followed the majority, if not all, of the protocol rules for article creation.
