Alvin Purple are an English Indie Rock band based in York and Leeds, UK. The band currently consists of Carly Humphries (vocals), Luke Barnfather (Guitar), Ralph Sayers (bass guitar) and Matthew Bradley (drums). The band are known for their dark and brooding live performances, they have toured venues across the UK and played a number of UK festivals.[1]

The band have performed a live sessions for BBC Introducing [2] [3] and have had airplay on BBC 6 Music. The band released a debut double A-Side single in Spring 2010 (The Look/Stare to Declare).[4] The single was backed by a video, produced by Craig Goode and Andy Little.[5]The band entered the studio with producer James Kenosha at the end of 2010, the band have confirmed that they will be releasing a debut EP in Summer 2011.

Notable Equipment

The band have been known to use Ableton Live, MAX MSP and a Kork KAOS pad when playing live to treat vocals. The band make use of live guitar looping, synths and trigger pre made samples live.
