Sandalio Herminio Díaz García (1923-1966) was a bodyguard and hitman for Santo Trafficante, Jr., the organized crime boss of Florida and Batista-era Cuba.

Diaz Garcia was born in Havanna, Cuba, in 1923. On August 8, 1955, Dominican exilee Jose "Pipi" Hernandez, a construction union leader, was stabbed to death in Havanna.[1][2][better source needed] Diaz Garcia is alleged to have been involved in the plot.[citation needed]

A member of the Cuban Restaurant Workers Union, he was employed as a cashier at mobster Meyer Lansky's Hotel Habana Riviera. In 1957, Diaz Garcia was allegedly involved in the assassinationation of Costa Rican president Jose Figueres Ferrer [citation needed] In 1960, Diaz Garcia moved to the Miami, working under Bay of Pigs leader Manuel Antonio de Varona. In December 1963, Diaz Garcia was involved in an failed assassination attempt against Fidel Castro. On May 30, 1966, Cuban radio announced that Diaz Garcia had been killed during an operation in Cuba.

In 1995, Diaz Garcia was named by the Cuban government as a suspect in the John F. Kennedy assassination.[3]
