Mental Block

Mental blocks stem from uncontrollable resistance, that is most likely being created from the brain (Kioskea. 2016). Mental block is the thought process being denied from accepting the thought for a certain task that is needing to be performed (Kioskea. 2016). The unconscious goes into a defense mode, causing disruption to the mind (Kioskea. 2016). Mental blocks can be caused from neurosis, hysteria, and an abscise of pathology (Kioskea. 2016). Mental blocks can cause psychical effects such as tension, emotional issues, and psychological suffering(Kioskea. 2016). Anxiety is also a large contributing factor that causes mental blocks (Thompson, S. 2013). When there is fear related to the task that is needing to be performed the higher the probability of worry, fear, and somatic anxiety (Thompson, S. 2013). The fear is often unexplainable, but could be caused from past failure at the same task (Thompson, S. 2013). There are many different ways to eliminate the cause of mental blocks that are suggested (Wax, D. 2015). Switching up the scenery where the task is being performed, and breaking the association between the task and where the mental block is taking place can be a strong advantage (Wax, D. 2015). Setting timer to eliminate time spent on the task, along with taking breaks to help clear the mind (Wax, D. 2015). Taking breaks help the unconscious, and creates room for new information to be processed (Wax, D. 2015). Mental blocks can be overcome with the right amount of preparation, and linking the physical block, with the mental block (Dean, J. 2012). Along with forgetting and issues that will hold you back from this particular issue, this will also help create breakthroughs (Dean, J. 2012).
