Evergon was born in 1946 under the name of Albert Jay Lunt, and was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, a city in Canada. Later on in life, Albert changed his name to Evergon, but has also been known as Celluloso Evergoni, Egon Brut, and Eve R. Gonzales.
Evergon is a Canadian artist and studied at Mount Allison University, he got a bachelors degree for fine arts in 1970. In 1974 Evergon would graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology, with a masters degree in fine arts. Since then, Evergon has been able to achieve an international reputation as a artist and a teacher. Most people recognize Evergon for his photography as he tends to use traditional and innovative techniques in photography. He is also known for his amazing work with Polaroid photography and holography. Many of his works can be seen in museums throughout Canada.
Evergon is a big supporter in gay rights, and was an early participant in the gay rights movement for Canada. This can be seen throughout his works as his works include body image, gender construction, aging, and personal sexuality. Most of his works are masculine, but he has also worked on feminine models. Evergon's work constantly changes with each new social issue that pops up, as he is a big supporter of freedom of expression, and wishes for everyone to be able to be imaginative.
