Edward (Ed) J Maloney BSc Hons I Eng MICE MAPM (born London 1971) raised and educated in Bohola, County Mayo, Republic of Ireland. Ed currently works for Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited as a Construction Director in its Major Projects Division. In 1994 Ed obtained a HNC in Civil Engineering from Dundalk RTC prior to obtaining a 1st Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from South Bank University in 2000.

In 2003 Ed joined Balfour Beatty as a Project Manager before being promoted to Senior Project Manager and then Project Director in 2006, before being promoted to Construction Director in 2008. Ed is married to Siobhan with 3 children, Steven (born 1991), Ryan (born 2004) and Emma (born 2008).

Ed is a known and very passionate Manchester United fan and has watched them play all over the UK and Europe, latest match being the victorious conquest of Chelsea in Moscow on May 21st 2008, where United won their third European Cup. Ed was aso lucky enough to attend the "miracle at the Nou Camp in Barcelona" in 1999 where United achieved the Treble of the European Cup, Football Association Challenge Cup and the Football Association English Premiership (the only British Club to achieve this feat).
