SODA CAN STOVE Hello there, This might sound crazy, but I am the one who came up with the design of the "SODA CAN STOVE". I did so in 2000, when I was hiking on the AT. I have lots of witnesses, and had numerous workshops on how to make one. I also hiked in 2001, and showed lots of folks how to make one then. I can talk later about what inspired me. Mostly it was the Trangia design. My trail name was Leprechaun. Hello there DUK. Mayb this site doesnt exist anymore, but I thought I'd give it a try.

    I wanted to make a claim about the history of the soda can alcohol stove.  I am in fact the person
    who created the model using aluminum cans.  I did it on the appalachian trail in 2000.  The design was 
    based on a trangia that a friend of mine was using.  I started in Damascus, Va. and by the time i got to PA,
    I had it figured out.  I'm not sure how I can prove this claim, but I had friends witness my progress and 
    taught many others how to make it.  I have always considered it my "gift to the world" and wasn't very 
    interested in patents or making any money from it.  I can tell you more later if you are interested.
