Knex's America, is a planned theme park to be constructed in Dayton, Nevada.

History

The parks origin can be traced as far back to December 2007. Knex created a proposal for an independant attraction in Las Vegas, Nevada. Knex was originally going to sign a deal with Harrah's Entertainment to place the attraction at the site of Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, after Harrah's announced an expansion plan. However, the deal fell through in December. Knex then moved the attraction to Mis Las Vegas to be constructed. The project was scheduled to begin construction in January, but it was stalled until April 2008. It was then announced that Knex would be evicted from the site where construction was scheduled to occur in May. The bottom level of the coaster was the only completed part at the time. The project was then moved to the end of North Las Vegas. The plan was to be a tower inverted coaster entitled "The Serpent". The tower frame reached its peak in July of 2008, with track layout scheduled to begin the next day. However, during a late night the tower completely collapsed from the third level up killing two construction workers and crushing a tractor. Knex was planning to rebuild the project, but lost the budget when the families of the workers sued Knex. The project was then presumed dead. Nearly two weeks after the accident, one developer announced a indoor theme park land featuring all Knex rides. Knex executives once again cancelled the project. Another revival didn't come until nine months later in April 2009. Three developers worked on an amusement park proposal blueprints since November. Executives took a liking an dubbed the project "Knexville" similar to Legoland and Disneyland. However, Knex only had two months remaining on their lease agreement and met with the landlords. They then said they had tell July to release the proposal. The project was ready to begin in August 2009 and open in time for March 2011. However, they were evicted from the lot on July 1, even though the blueprints were released. That day all of Knex properties including construction vehicals, a portable office, and a temporary parking lot. The landlords feared their land would soon go into foreclosure. Days later, a german parts manufacturer, Faller, signed a Five Year deal with the landlords to create a theme park which would be two acres larger than Knexville. Developers announced it could begin construction by August 2009 and have an estimated opening by Valentine's Day 2011 and would be named "Wonder World". The parks layout consisted of wooden coasters, ferris wheel, boat rides, Space Shots, such as a Classic Carnival feeling. During the developmental phase of Wonder World, developers were already planning a second park in Dayton, Nevada after a developer announced he purchased a 8 acre lot. Faller approved the project and stated construction would begin five months after the opening of Wonder World. The developers then scheduled a meeting with Knex and Lego to feature their properties in the planned park, "The Dayton Project". However, On July 24th during a pre-construction planning. A drillpress digging a quarry for a log flume ride, unknowingly making a huge incision into the oil line. The oil then spilled onto the construction area and was unnoticed by the workers. The fuel was then ignited by the steam of a tractor rising the flames nearly 20 feet. After seeing the fire all workers fled the site and out to a dirt parking lot. One worker stayed on the site and rushed over to a torching office portable to check if anyone was inside, luckily no one was. While running, the worker was hit by a flying flaming piece of drywall from the portable and was knocked unconcious. The fire department arrived shortly and extuinghised the fire and admitting the worker to the hospital to treat for 2nd degree burns. The office portable was completely destroyed by the fire and the only structure harmed by the fire. The fire was put out before it could spread to the actual construction area. After hearing that the only copies of the schematics and blueprints for the park were destroyed inside the portable, a majority of the developers quit the project. After this, Faller delayed construction to November 2009. However, Faller was then sued by the landlords and forced to pay 50 billion dollars in a civil suit and pay for a new oil line, losing their entire budget. The landlords then announced the land would be converted into an auto mall. However, the recent quitting of the developers still attended the meeting with Knex and Lego. It was then that both the companys offered a total of 15,000 dollar six year contract. They then announced that they would join "The Dayton Project" and create an entire new park. The parks first rendering was dubbed "Odyssey". A mixture of diffrent lands and themes featuring five hotels, 16,000 seat ampitheater, and a 5 acre theme park. The project was then later scrapped. The next proposal was an American-themed park with the title ruse "Americaland" until a proper name could be confirmed. On August 3rd, developers announced that Knex and Lego agreed on the name "Knex's America". The project announced it would begin construction in June 2011 and have an estimated opening of July 4th, 2013 to fit with the American Motif. Developers also announced that an adjacent water park and multi-themed resort complex is also in the works. On August 6th, Developers announced they signed a deal with both Marvel Comics and Paramount Pictures to feature ride variations of their creations. On August 11, It was announced Lego dropped out of the project leaving Knex the only manufacturer and releasing $15,000 dollars from the Lego Contract. Developers then subsequently signed a deal with Lionel for building decor. Making the split 33.3% evenly.
