User:CoronalMassAffection

Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Hello. I am here to improve the solar and plasma physics articles. I occasionally contribute to articles relating to other subjects.

My username is the term coronal mass ejection with ejection swapped for the rhyming word affection and the spaces omitted. (It is unrelated to the media franchise with the homophonic title.)

About me and COI disclosure

My real name is Trestan Simon. I have been contributing to English Wikipedia's solar and plasma physics articles since I was a 15-year-old high school student. I am now an undergraduate at the University of Colorado Boulder, a research assistant at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, and an incoming mentee at the National Solar Observatory. My activity here and on other Wikimedia sites is not supported by these institutions; all of my contributions are made of my own accord in my personal time. Furthermore, I have not and will not preferentially cite or cover research from individuals with whom I have a professional connection. That is to say, I have in the past and may in the future cite works from individuals I am connected with, but only when I believe they are the best choice to verify the information being presented.

To do

My primary goal for 2024 is to improve the following Sun-related articles. I hope to get them to WP:FA quality as a personal goal for NASA's Heliophysics Big Year. I intend to begin making progress in the summer.

  1. Solar flare
  2. Solar wind
  3. Coronal mass ejection
  4. Sunspot
  5. Solar storm likely not suitable for FA since it is really just a popular umbrella term for flares, CMEs, and SEP events

More minor tasks I intend to work on at some point are as follows (organized by subject but listed in no particular order).

Sun related
Plasma related
