Beauty of natural "CHANNANKARA" is a town located in Kerala, India. It is situated 22 km north of Trivandrum, 16 km from the Trivandrum International Airport and 21 km from Trivandrum railway station and bus..National Highway 47 is also 3 km away. channankara is surrounded by Kadinamkulam Kayal to the east, the Arabian Sea to the west, vettuthura to the north and pallinada to the south. channankara forms part of Kadinamkulam panchayat of Trivandrum district.Channankara is the major production of coir in the panchayat there is so many coir society in the panchayat also and there is a big Auditorium. water transport was the main mean of goods transportation from channankara. Coconuts and coir products were transported to Kollam and Alappuzha from channankara, through Parvathi Puthannaar and Kadinam Lake in large covered wooden boats (kettuvallam) and were loaded from the jetties located at Kadavil, kadinamkulam and Channankara. The present population of channankara is about 10,000, and includes Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
Economy
Channankara and the neighbouring villages had trade connections with various Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE from the 19th century onwards. This paved the way for people from this part of India to migrate to these Arab nations for work. Until recently, coir and allied industries helped people to generate their source of income. Now this industry in channankara is struggling for survival. Various steps have been taken by authorities to bring back the old glory of this traditional industry.

The Kadinamkulam Kayal is one the most beautiful lakes to view. Major cinema/serials are being shot near the lakeside. Aside from this, the golden sand beaches, Muthala Pozhi, the Kerala backwaters, traditional coir spinning, the coconut groves and coconut trees with multiple trunks, snake boats and kettuvallams are notable attractions.
