Will Saletan argues that Clinton engages in a smear campaign against Bernie Sanders, hoping to use her gender as a wedge issue.

Ian Tuttle, writing in the National Review, argues that "the Left’s obsession with identity politics — and its effectiveness in silencing opponents — ensures that the 2016 election will be cast as a “war on women” with Hillary Clinton its victim incarnate, facts be damned."

No more baby parts

The New York Times discusses an interview with the gunman, where he makes several rambling statements.

The phrase "no more baby parts" was said by the gunman during the interview, along with less coherent statements.

The Associated Press and Reuters use the phrase "no more baby parts" in their headlines to draw attention to the political motive.

  • "Planned Parenthood shooting: Suspect said 'no more baby parts'". BBC News.
  • Wesley Lowery (November 28, 2015). "'No more baby parts,' suspect in attack at Colo. Planned Parenthood clinic told official". Washington Post.
  • "Colorado shooting suspect said 'no more baby parts': reports". Reuters.

  • Politico

The NYT is more cautious to highlight rambling/incoherent angle.

The phrase "baby parts" has been used in the news media in Colorado to describe protests against this specific facility since August

The fact that a possibly mentally unstable person echoes a phrase used within the news media is not likely to be a coincidence.

Some discussion of the shooter's possible motives should be included - as it's normal for articles like these to have discussion.

No source offers any credible motive for an attack on an abortion clinic that is not motivated by anti-abortion politics. In the absence of any other motives, the article should include coverage of what every major newspaper is reporting.

This material needs to be included. It's been widely reported in reliable sources including the Associated Press, Reuters, the BBC, the Washington Post. It's also the top story on the front page of reuters.com, as a critically important news story and on the front page of NYT.
