H. Sabrina Gledhill is a British national who was raised in Puerto Rico and educated in the US and UK. Since December 1986, she has lived in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, where she works as a researcher, translator, writer and lecturer. She has a B.A. in English Literature (Summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). In addition to working on several research projects, she is the translator of over 20 books, including two published in the US: The Quiet in the Land: Everyday Life, Contemporary Art and Projeto Axé, organized by France Morin (2000), and Death is a Festival, by João José Reis (2003).
