KiYO (born March 16) is a Japanese musician, producer, composer, and drummer for the rock band "Alias," as well as a radio host. He is also an entrepreneur serving as the representative of the creative group "i2 Creative Japan." He was born in Minato-ku, Osaka[1] and has blood type O.

Background

Born and raised in Osaka. After mainly performing in bands and supporting live shows in Japan, KiYO worked in sound production and total direction for TV stations and music specialty channel official mobile sites. Since then, he has been responsible for various projects with a focus on entertainment and IT in general. He currently resides in Osaka and Taiwan.[2]

  • He formed "Alias" with Tomo Asaha, a Japanese guitarist based in the US, and Kiriko Nakanishi, an erhu player. With their unique musical style and innovative promotion techniques, all their public songs have achieved top rankings on major music streaming sites. They later had their first live performance at [[Asia[['s largest rock festival and made their debut in Taiwan.
  • KiYO worked across all departments, from sound to web development, at a mobile development company in Osaka, where he gained comprehensive knowledge and expertise. He also acquired the skill of creating data broadcasts for One-Seg TV due to his experience in working for major TV stations in Kansai (although he did not actually enter this field, he personally studied it thoroughly).[3]
  • Former editor-in-chief of "KWANSEI MUSIC DOME - Kansai Indie Live House Comprehensive Mobile Site."
  • At the first independently established music label of an Osaka-based commercial TV station in collaboration with Index, "Nakanoshima Records," KiYO was responsible for artist, talent production, management, and A&R.
  • Advisor to the Osaka branch of the East Asian unified label "FREE PLANET MUSIC LEAGUE."
  • KiYO also served as a special lecturer for the music business department at Cat Music College.
  • He has also handled a wide range of domestic and international events, such as casting for the Kyushu region of cosplayer/anison DJ SaoLilith's "Moe Okoshi Tour of all 47 prefectures" and appearances at a Taiwan festival for dance idol group I LoVU.
  • Since 2014, he has been the personality for FM-HANAKO (in Osaka Prefecture's Moriguchi City), and also distributes videos on YouTube Live.
  • He provided a song for the 30th anniversary of the founding of the taiko performance group "Dadadadadan Tenko," which was used as the theme song for their 88-hour non-stop radio program broadcast as part of the group's anniversary project. (Vocals were provided by member Daishi Masuoka.)

Person/Episode

  • The proper spelling of the name is "KiYO," with only the letter "i" always written in lowercase. (Reason unknown)
  • As Alias, he is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including composing almost all of the songs, drums, electronic drums, piano, keyboards, and sampling. He also edits vocals during recording.
  • He has many jobs overseas, especially in Asia, and posts frequently in English on Facebook and Twitter.
  • He declares himself a fan of "Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas," and has even attended the original art exhibition. The author of the work, Shiori Teshirogi, introduced Alias on her blog, saying, "All the songs are amazing and cool!"[4] To this, KiYO replied to Teshirogi, saying, "I'm so grateful that my life span has decreased."
  • From his blog and other sources, it is clear that he has connections with visual kei bands, such as producing Lin's Taiwan performance and visiting the dressing room at La'cryma Christi's Osaka performance.
  • The TV tie-up of "Lost Sense" by "The M's Exclusive Genius Orchestra ~ Virgil ~" (Asahi Broadcasting's "Bebop! High Heels") was thanks to KiYO's work.[5]
  • He has had a relationship with members of the performance girls' unit 9nine since their amateur days.[6] Although he deliberately avoids naming the members in his blog, the expression "two people from Kansai" and "a contest in Osaka city" suggest that they are Kanae Yoshii and Hirona Murata.
  • During his amateur days, he was a roadie for KATSUJI (Gargoyle, Animetal, The Cro-Magnons) for a short period of time. He is a senior from high school and a classmate of KiYO's older brother.[7]
