Solid lines show direct lineage, and dashed lines indicate missing links, uncertified, or presumed relationship. Descendents of the same generation, brothers and cousins, are shown in the same row. Where a connection is not treaceable, either directly or indirectly, the connection is not shown, but ultimately it may be surmised to exist based on the common law. Most of the brothers in polygamous marriages are half-brothers from a common father. Naming convention: native name or native nickname are the first preference, native title is second preference, Chinese version of name and title are respectfully a third and a fourth preference. Most of the shown single-syllable names, and Chinese-style single-syllable last-first name combinations are conditional Chinese names used in the Chinese annals in lieu of the real names and titles. Some names, like Laoshang, are Chinese translations of the real name or title. Other names are the only recorded form, there is no alternative, even if they are a clearly derrogatory sobriquet.
