The Ouachita River Correctional Unit is a medium-security men’s state prison in Arkansas, United States. It is located two miles southwest of Malvern in Hot Spring County.

Ouachita River Correctional Unit opened in fiscal year 2004 with 316 beds. Capacity was expanded to 632 beds in fiscal year 2005.[1].

The unit houses an Arkansas Department of Correction correctional school. Attendance is compulsory for inmates who lack a high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate.

A 680-bed special-needs unit is under construction at a cost of $72.5 million. It will host geriatric and chronically ill inmates. The new unit is expected to employ an additional 232. [2].
