This is a list of Common Warcraft misconceptions, commonly held beliefs regarding Warcraft, particularly its lore, that are simply inccorect. This list is mainly for editors as a list of things to look out for when editing the Warcraft articles.

Scourge != Forsaken

This is a rather common one. The Scourge are not the same as the Forsaken. Although both are Undead, that is where similarities end. The Forsaken are former members of the Scourge that broke free from the Lich King's control when he was weakened by Illidans attacks on him. These former Scourge, now known as the Forsaken, rallied around Sylvanas Windrunner and currently reside under the ruins of Lordaeron in their capitol of Undercity. While the Forsaken are members of the Horde, the Scourge is a seperate faction in the Warcraft universe.

Paladin != Holy Knight

Paladins are not Holy Knights. They are Cleanse/Buff/Heal-Bots who should wear cloth, not plate. The fact that they can wield weapons and occasionally kill other players and NPCs is a bug that Blizzard Entertainment has stated will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
