Crocodile Dundee day or Hug a crock day is a minor national holiday in Australia. This day was set in memorium of the release date of the first Crocodile Dundee movie in Australia. The movie, based on a true story is considered a cornerstone of Australian modern culture and is highly revered to this day in large part of the continent.
common practices
On Crocodile Dundee day it is customary for Australian citizens to dress-up as Crocodile Dundee, watch all three movies (while only two were published worldwide, the third was only released in Australia). It is customary to pay homage both to Paul Hogan and to Michael "Crocodile" Dundee by placing crocodiles teeth on values dress attire and avoid wearing anything with sleeves.
