School - H H The AGA KHAN BOYS ( from 12 to 18 years of age )

Significant projects :

Grant from CIDA ( Canadian International Development Agency ) to work with farmers in the DODOMA region of Tanzania to improve their yields for MAIZE in 1976 ( school project ). My maths teacher was Mr Oaks from CANADA who 'helped' as he got very excited about my 'potential' given my ability at MATHS at the time ( did both pure and applied maths from 12 years of age !) . My MATH has become rather neglected in time !.

Ran a monthly 'magazine' - the LIGHT from the library at H H The AGAKHAN BOYS as well as supervise the chickens ( yup ...I had a full working small scale chicken farm whilst at school !)

Noted achievements : Walked from Dar-es-salaam to Cairo - Egypt ( well, part walked , part hitched rides on lorries and the odd bus after school ( at 16 - nothing to do for three months - with 23 starters and 11 finishers ) and then ended up in HH The AGAKHAN BOYS for another two years ( A Levels ) ( started late )

Did the first London to Brighton FLORA bicycle race and made it into the first 30 ( !) . Well, always won at bicycle races. Hello AIDAN ( he didnt believe I would do it - on a second hand bicycle purchased from the college campus for 80 pounds three weeks before the ride ! haha ...he got one for 50 pounds - being a mean scotsman !)
