The Herald is a daily newspaper in Jasper, Indiana. The Herald servers Dubois, Spencer, and Pike County in Indiana, U.S.A. It’s current circulation is 9,300. The Herald, being one of 300 of independently-owned press, circulating 11,200 copies, reaching more than 90 percent of Dubois County population (Colton).

The photographs of Lee Hamilton from The Herald’s 15 March 1986 edition were printed in David Paul Thelen’s book “Becoming Citizens In The Age Of Television” (Thelen[1]).

Dubois County Herald Newspaper was founded in 1895 by William Binckley ("About Us - Dubois County Herald"), a St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology graduate ("Saint Meinrad Seminary & School of Theology"). Binckley remained the editor of The Herald until he sold it to Louis Zoercher, then The News publisher, in 1909. In 1909 to 1919, Louis Zoercher ownership of The Herald printed in Tell City ("About Us - Dubois County Herald"). After Zoercher sold The Herald to a group of businessmen based in Jasper the newspaper returned to Jasper. Albert T. Rumbach, was a businessman whose descendants were in charge of The Herald for almost a century already. Current managing editor Justin Rumbach is a representative of the fourth generation of Rumbach family at The Herald. His father John A. Rumbach and Dan E. Rumbach are the current co-publishers of the newspaper. T. Rumbach also spent 48 years at The Herald as a general manager.(Peckman)
