·       The sentence “Moving down the group, the compounds become increasing geometric distortion, becoming increasingly trans-bent from the original linear geometry and displaying increasingly limited shortening of the multiple bond” is unclear à consider changing the word “become” to “undergo”

·       I would swap the order of the two sentences under the “Valence bond resonating pair” rationalization. It would be good for all three of the rationalizations listed under “Semiempirical approaches” to follow the same format (consisting of a description of the rationalization, followed by a consideration of whether it is consistent with other theories.

·       This article is neutral and does a good job representing multiple approaches/viewpoints while still presenting one particular topic and approach in context.

·       Overall, I think this is really good and could just use some additional figures and citations throughout. I think you only really need one representative figure, but more can’t hurt if you want to make more.
