About Me

My name is Alex Staalner and I am a freshman at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. I am from Suwanee, GA which is in Gwinnett County, Georgia and I attended Collins Hill High School. I am 22 years, and yes I can hear what your thinking, "a 22 year old freshman?". The reason I am 22 and a freshman while most people are 18-19 when they start college is because right after I graduated from high school I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark for 2 years. My father is from there and I thought that it would be awesome to live in the country my dad is from and learn the language and culture on my own. I am also a citizen of Denmark, as well as in the US, so that made just going over there on my own, not knowing anyone a little bit easier. So while most of my friends started their college lives, I started the life of a 19 year American alone in Denmark wanting experience some awesome shit!! That's what I did and I loved every minute of it. I now have an understanding of their culture I didn't have before, I speak the language (my dad and I can talk and no one understands us so we like to have some fun with that), and I had a life experience very few people get. Along with being a world traveler, I am huge sports fan. I will watch or play pretty much any sport (and NO curling is not a sport!!). By far my favorite is baseball and I will watch the Atlanta Braves til the day I die. I also love music and listen to a wide variety of genres but by far Pop punk is my favorite. Bands which got me into this scene are Blink-182, New Found Glory, Sum 41, and Greenday. I am always in the mood to listen to a good pop punk band and I go to as many concerts and small shows as I can go to. Other than sports and music, my favorite activity is just to be with friends and family. As long as I am with them I know I will have a good time, so what we do really doesn't matter.

Contributions to Wikipedia

So far the extent of my Wikipedia contributions are a few minor edits I did for my English class and a page on my friends band,Freshman 15 (band). I chose to do an article on them because, as mentioned, they are close friends and I help them get their name out there as much as possible. I am not sure that I will continue create more pages but who knows what the future holds?
