Biography

Curtis was born in Milwaukee, WI. He received his BA in Journalism/Advertising and MS in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin, and is the father of three sons: Ryan, Jamie and Max. He serves on the advisory boards for AfterCollege, Rollbase, and Standout Jobs. Curtis Rogers is notable for his role in the development of one of the nation’s first career-related websites, CareerTaxi.com, which merged with Monster in 1995.

He and partner Steve Schmidt launched the site while Curtis was President/Chief Executive Officer of Rogers and Associates Advertising, a recruitment and business-to-business advertising agency he established with Schmidt in 1981. With 10 offices in major US markets, Rogers and Associates was the second-largest advertising agency in Silicon Valley, and was one of the largest recruitment advertising agencies in the United States. Curtis remained as Division President after Rogers and Associates was acquired in 1995 by TMP Worldwide/Monster. In 1998 he left recruitment advertising and started Global Vineyard Importers, a small, quality-oriented importer specializing in up-and-coming varietals, which was sold in 2000. He also created one of the Internet’s first career-related websites, CareerTaxi.com. The site later merged with Monster.com.

Curtis returned to advertising in 2000, joining EmployChina.com where he was Executive Vice President/General Manager overseeing the US operations. He managed international marketing and grew the site from a small regional operation to one of the largest full-service employment companies and job boards in China. Currently, Curtis is President and Co-Founder of CKR Interactive, Inc., a recruitment advertising agency that focuses on employment communications, recruitment advertising consulting and marketing driven strategies. He founded the agency in 2001 with Lee Roberson, whom he met while on the advisory board for CareerWorkStation. Headquartered in Cupertino, California, CKR Interactive has five offices throughout the United States and provides global employer marketing services through OneAgent, a joint venture between CKR and agencies ThirtyThree, Pinxit Blue and Re.Agent.
