Richard King Jimmy Banks (born May 6,1992),also known as Amir Grey,is an American rapper,singer, songwriter,actor and record producer. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Grey first recorded his song “Day 8” with American rapper High in 2008. Grey first gained recognition in the early 2000s when he performed at the 2005 iHeartRadio Music Festival to promote the beginning of his career, delaying by one to one tracks each moment.


When Grey began his career,Grey supposedly revealed his rap name Yung Gray, which was deleted to avoid confusion about his rap names. Grey once played the guitar in the hallway of his 7th grade school.


On August 6,2015,Grey was shot by American rapper Mr. Carter, who claimed that Grey wasn’t entering his car when Wayne told him to because Grey didn’t want to listen to Wayne. On August 8,2015,A fan went to that same gas station seeing Grey surviving the death by getting up off the ground after being shot and walks to his car and drives home. As Wayne got arrested, Grey told police that Wayne shot him on purpose because Grey didn’t feel like listening to him. As soon as Grey ignored, he was gonna say why he was ignoring til Wayne got the gun and shot him in the stomach.


On December 16,2016,Grey released his sixteenth album Passion, Pain & Trenches, which reached multi-platinum records by the singles including, “Everyday Goin’ Start“. The album win Best Rap Album For Best Rap Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards where Grey won the award for his song “Blood On My Hands”.
