John McGhie (8 November 1867 - 15 January 1952) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

His father was William McGhie (26 April 1828 - 6 December 1915), a postmaster and grocer from Lesmahagow.

His mother was Anna Steel Barr (20 March 1839 - 6 January 1873) from Boghead in Lesmahagow.

John McGhie was born on 8 November 1867 in Lesmahagow.[3]

He married Mary Ann Agnes Burns (c.1882 - c.1971). They married on 24 June 1901 in Glasgow.
