James Kerr-Lawson (28 October 1862 - 1 May 1939) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
His father was William Lawson (14 March 1830 - 28 June 1910), a cooper from Anstruther.
His mother was Jessie Kerr Coupar (15 May 1838 - 30 July 1917) from Edinburgh. William and Jessie married on 30 November 1860 in St. Monans in Fife.
James Kerr-Lawson was born on 28 October 1862 in Anstruther, Fife. He took his surname to be Kerr-Lawson to avoid confusion with the artist James Lawson.
He married Catherine Adah Muir (1860 - 11 June 1952), known as Cassy, in 1889 in Cookham, Berkshire, England.

Death
He died on 1 May 1939 in London, England. His usual address was 69 Glebe Place, Chelsea.
His estate was worth £3049, 8 shillings and 7 pence.[6]
