Ideal Search Engine Optimization cannot be defined in a step by step process, for each case is different although this SEO Process has been proven successful time and time again. A basic introduction to our “front end” process so you have a better understanding will consist of the following.

I. SEO Questionnaire

     a. To be completed by the clients preferably in five business days

II. Kick-Off Meeting

     (Within 1-2 business days after contract/agreement signing)
     a. SEO questionnaire does not need to be complete to have meeting
     b. Introductions
     c. SEO program process walkthrough
     d. Specify the work to be done on a specific number of pages
     e. Answer questions – set client expectations

III. Site Structure Analysis – Applies only to applicable packages

     (Within 1-5 business days after receiving SEO questionnaire)
     a. Specialist needs to look for:
         i. Dynamic URL solutions for:
             1. Shopping cart systems
             2. Content management systems
         ii. Coding Issues:
             1. Suggest W3C compliant HTML code
             2. Comment out JavaScript and use remote .js files
             3. Use remote cascading style sheet .css files
             4. Eliminate client side JavaScript and Meta 302 redirects where not appropriate
             5. Substitute navigational links written in JavaScript with a static solution or at least a suggestion
             6. Keep page file size as small as possible (<100K)
             7. Avoid frames, Iframes and Whole Flash front pages
         iii.Architecture Issues:
             1. Resolve canonical issues:
                 a. Ensure only one domain serves content and that all other owned domains 301 redirect to main domain
                 b. Ensure that [site.com] 301 redirects to [www.site.com]
             2. Use of a site wide navigational system that ties the major areas together, consistently
             3. Use of a footer
             4. Use of a sitemap
             5. Cross linking of similar or related pages/categories
             6. Use of keyword text in links

IV. Keyword Analysis

     (Within 1-5 business days of completion of Site Structure Analysis)
     a. Research relevant keywords based on client’s seed list, the client’s keyword Meta tags and competitor sites. Seek client feedback.
     b. Have client prioritize top 20 keywords.

V. Competitive Analysis

     (Within 5 business days of approval of Keyword Analysis)
         i. Number of back links in Google, Yahoo! and MSN
             1. Look for signs of link buying
         ii. General quality of back links
         iii. Level of optimization activity
         iv. Number of indexed pages
         v. Use of ‘black hat’ optimization techniques

VI. Specify Pages For SEO Program

         a. Work with the client to select up to the contracted number of pages to include in the SEO program. These pages will be the focus of the SEO program.

VII. SEO Recommendations

     (Within 5 business days of completed keywords analysis)
         a. Begin formulating recommendations document for the pages chosen for the SEO program.
         b. Optimize only one priority keyword phrase per page with no more than three 2nd tier keywords.
         c. Recommendations must be spelled correctly and grammatically correct.
         d. Suggest creating new pages for priority keywords or keywords with high counts that do not fit into site’s content or are supported best by another page not in the program.

VIII. Begin Link Building Campaign

     (Within 1-5 business days of completed keywords analysis)
         a. Provide linking team the link text and description to use.

IX. Implementation of Recommendations

     (Within 3-5 days of client approval of SEO recommendations)

X. Reporting & Monitoring & Ongoing Recommendations

        a. Monthly proactive monitoring of priority keywords and monitoring of last recommendations.
        b. Monthly detailed SEO summary report including a linking recap report with recommendations as needed. (NOT INCLUDED IN ANY PACKAGE – ADD-ON Feature)
        c. Manage client expectations.
