ding the following year.

As of November 2021, the organisation is made up of 200 internal employees, and coordinates an additional UK-Wide network of over 90 templating and installation teams.

The company operates in the secondary sector of the kitchen furniture market, sourcing worksurface materials globally and distributing them through well known UK kitchen retailers, including Wickes, Magnet, Wren, IKEA, Benchmarx and Howdens Joinery.

History

Sheridan began as a solid surface manufacturer in 1996, receiving accreditation under the DuPont Corian Quality Network as a means to secure work in the commercial sector. A succession of contracts allowed Sheridan to expand in 1998 to a 25,000sq ft factory premises in Ouzlewell Green, Lofthouse, West Yorkshire.[2]

In 2000, Sheridan Granite and Marble Ltd[3] was established at the same premises as the stone manufacturing arm of Sheridan[4]. With £500,000 Share capital, this branch of the business purchased an existing granite and quartz manufacturing facility in Tebay, Cumbria. This was short lived, with the company encountering staffing difficulties at this location, and by 2003, this division was rehomed to the head office premises in Lofthouse, by way of expansion to neighbouring units.[2]

The year 2005 saw Sheridan move to New Sheridan House, Normanton, West Yorkshire. The company invested £5million in 2008 to expand the existing factory space to a total floor area of 130,000sq ft.[2] This site would serve as Sheridan's base of operations up to the present day.

From 2004 onwards, Sheridan has developed own-brand worksurfaces under the apollo®[5] brand[6], which includes Quartz, Granite, Solid Surface, Wood, Recycled Glass and Sintered Stone materials. Through manufacturing its' own established line of products, Sheridan has over time transitioned from a commercial fabricator to a supply and delivery partner with the UK's top kitchen retailers.

In 2020, Sheridan was featured in Yorkshire's Fastest 50 by the Yorkshire Post as one of the fastest 50 growing companies that year[7]. In 2021, the company celebrated its' 25th anniversary[8], and was named in an independent report as one of the key market players for the global Bathroom Worktops market[9].
