Purpose

What is the purpose of this? Gentgeen 05:42, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a test template, along with someone else's to help navigate easily between metropolises/provinces. The "competing" one is also truncated in scope. Mine is terser, his is more meticulous, but longer. You can find his by stepping down mine. I was surprised when I found it, but left it there. Left him a message as well. Neither of us have heard anything one way or another. Student7 11:51, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nitpicking

You know, this is a list of metropolitan dioceses, not provinces :p (I'm sorry for being a jerk)... IMO I'd do away with this and replace with more detail in the infobox at the top of the articles. 118.90.15.97 (talk) 02:00, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First off, there is nothing wrong with accuracy which is where your comment is going. We need accuracy. Thanks for bringing that up!
Second, check Miami. This does point to the ecclesiastical province. I haven't checked the others. Could this be used as a stub for the others? It would diminish confusion which exists among even most Catholics, who think the "Archdiocese" is in charge when it is simply the name of a larger diocese. (Not that the metropolitan has a lot of power either, but that is another story). So yes, articles (stubs?) are needed.
IMO this is needed to emphasize the ecclesiastical structure which is fundamental, however weak. Student7 (talk) 21:53, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
