Update, 2015
This template should be updated to reflect populations as of Jan. 1, 2015. For the five largest urban areas in Norway, one can find the populations here: [1]. For the rest, go to: [2]. On the latter list, Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg is #0022; Porsgrunn/Skien is #3005; Kristiansand is #4002. To find a specific urban area on the latter list, you copy & paste the entire table into a Word document and use the “Find” function and type in the appropriate keyword(s).--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 01:29, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- Better way to find a specific urban area on the latter Statistics Norway list: Go to List of municipalities of Norway, and you'll find a list that can be sorted by name, municipal code, population, etc. Find a specific municipality on the Wikipedia list, take its municipal code, and find its municipal code in the second column (“Municipality”) of the latter of the two Statistics Norway lists that I cited; said Statistics Norway list sorts urban areas by municipal code. Most larger urban areas have the same name as their corresponding primary municipality; if the urban area is in two or more municipalities, it will be listed by whichever of its constituent municipalities has the lowest municipal code. You can look up the urban area on Wikipedia to see which municipality(s) it is in. Btw, when I said that “Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg is #0022; Porsgrunn/Skien is #3005; Kristiansand is #4002”, I mean the number in the first column (“Urban settlement”), not the second column (“Municipality”).--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 00:40, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
