Other films

I added a select group of other films. If you think a film or two should be added, you should add it to the template or ask here. - LA (T) 19:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just querying the addition of Gamera vs. Gyaos, The X from Outer Space, Gappa and Gamera vs. Jiger - there is no mention of Frankenstein on those articles, they aren't in the Frankenstein films category and the navbox isn't on those pages. I assume it is somehow connected with the Toho series in the section above but they have a Frankenstein link (even if slightly tenuous in some cases) but I don't see why they are in a Frankenstein navbox. In Germany, those films, along with several of Tohos, were labeled as Frankenstein films.http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2009/06/05/gualagon-japanese-monster-german-style/--MaxOfTheDead (talk) 21:36, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I removed them since I wouldn't say that the title changes are enough to qualify them for the list - if you disagree perhaps you could add sections to the articles for the films in question playing up the Frankenstein connection? NeilEm (talk) 20:03, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re-ordering

I think this template needs to be tidied up - the way all the films (aside from the Hammers, Universals and Tohos) are lumped together whether they're adaptaions, sequels or parodies makes the whole thing a bit unclear. I did sort "other films" into subdivisions, and added new sections for comics and TV productions (I was basing my version around the Dracula template), but my edit has since been reverted. I'll change it back to my version some time in the next few weeks unless anyone can justify the current, rather cluttered template. NeilEm (talk) 17:24, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Characters

I don't like how the list of "Characters" at the top of this navbox give the impression that they appear in the novel, when in fact most of them only appear in subsequent film adaptations. I think a second "Characters" list should be created under the "Film adaptations" section of this navbox for them, and only characters that appear in the novel should be in the main "Characters" list.--Gibson Flying V (talk) 00:06, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the characters down, but feel free to try something else. Frietjes (talk) 16:01, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
From what i've seen characters usually go first in these templates.--TheMovieBuff (talk) 17:47, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
okay, I split the list of characters. Frietjes (talk) 16:18, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
the last change said "what is wrong with all the characters being together?", indicates that editors are not reading the discussion here, so I reverted it since there was no further discussion presented here. Frietjes (talk) 16:21, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On Frankenstein

A bit meta today, but this template appears to have become something of a Frankenstein. Does it make sense to split it, or to use the {{navbox with collapsible groups}} better (as in, have two groups instead)? --Izno (talk) 00:16, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The film section is already collapsed, which makes it a much more manageable size than is shown on the template page. Frankenstein's monster template has already been tamed, and is eating dinner with 'Friend'. Randy Kryn (talk) 00:21, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
