Organization plans

If no one has a better idea, I'd like to propose the following: This article page (USA women's national basketball team) should contain information about the Olympic teams and other events (FIBA world Championship) where the national team competes. Other events under the auspices of the USA Basketball should get their own page. For example, I already created a separate page for the World University Games team. This page currently has the Jones Cup information, I propose moving it to a new page. I believe the U18 and U19 teams are essentially the same, so I would plan a single page for those two teams. Each of the individual pages should be linked from the USA Basketball page (currently, this page and the WUG page are linked there). What isn't as obvious is whether each individual page should be crosslinked, i.e. should the WUG page have a See Also for the National team page and the Jones team page? My inclination is yes, but if someone disagrees, let me know.--SPhilbrickT 16:16, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn’t Caitlyn Clark on Team USA? What a huge mistake leaving her off the team. Lost my support. 2603:8001:9B00:8C6B:AC54:49DE:891A:1F42 (talk) 09:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone notices a large removal of information, I removed the Jones Cup material, because I copied it to a new page USA Women’s R. William Jones Cup Team (as discussed above).--SPhilbrickT 00:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History of the USA Women's basketball team

The U.S. women's basketball team is, perhaps, the most dominant international team in the history of the women's sports, yet it doesn't even have a history section on its Wikipedia page. I'd love to write it on my own, but, unfortunately, I'm not a native speaker, that is why I'm asking for help. I can do the stats, different medal tables, but I need someone to write a history section like this. There is a lot of information on the official page of USA Basketball (usab.com; history of the women's team - https://www.usab.com/womens/national-team/history.aspx). The U.S women's team's Wikipedia page itself is here. Thank you.

Great idea!! I wish I had the time to do this!! Maybe at a later time. Gandrew2222 (talk) 11:48, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-1936

Has a USA national team existed before 1936? Howard the Duck (talk) 14:19, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(LOL this question was for the men's team but I guess it could also be relevant for the women's team too. Howard the Duck (talk) 21:52, 9 August 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Head to Head records

Somehow the all-time results show lower number of games than women's world cup records, how can that be the case? Is the data for all-time results incomplete or were the titles of two charts mixed up? 95.82.123.39 (talk) 05:48, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
