Why does "rogue" direct to this page? Rogue is also one of the main classes in DnD, so I thought it would have its own page --Hobbes3k 07:07, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FF or General article?

This article seems to have a fairly general title and some minor aspects in it's content point in a general direction. The vast majority of the content though is very FF centric. I would propose to rename it to Thief (Final Fantasy Character Class) or similar and let a more general article take the place of Thief (character class).

Indeed, this is a general class article, not a Final Fantasy article. The FF info was actually quite sparse and already exists in Final Fantasy character classes, therefore it has been removed from here. WikiProject Final Fantasy releases its claim over this article ;) >Gamemaker 14:10, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thief or assassin

A thief in classic DND and most other game terms uses stealth and deception to part the target from his goods, only killing as a last resort. ( I refer to Oliver Twist`s Dodger for example) The classic game Assassin charactor is a killer for hire a person who gets paid to kill. The term was dropped in DND because the case was made that every charactor is essentialy an assassin. A very poor article with little or no real value as far as gaming definitions go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.177.90 (talk) 04:13, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The term may have originiated with D&D, but D&D does not hold excluvive rights to the concept of a thief class. Many games use this character archtype.Jinnai 20:27, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Burglar‽

Has there ever been a game where this class was actually denominated burglar? -- Gohnarch 06:14, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
