Another day, another boat race....

• "three-and-a-half lengths" - are the dashes necessary?

• What does "1st Trinity" mean in this context? All I know it as is a Sunday in May or June.

• "who had been educated at Geelong Grammar School" - I'm not sure this is exactly on topic for a boat race article, none of the other crew members' pre-Oxbridge education is mentioned
