Merger proposal

I propose that articles Tear catcher and Lacrymatory be merged into Unguentarium. I think that the content in the Tear catcher article can easily be explained in the context of Unguentarium without causing any problems. Gaius Cornelius (talk) 15:22, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]


I largely agree, but think that 19th century tear catcher should remain a separate page that references Unguentarium given that they are a self conscious revival of the type and so far removed in date, manufacture, and purpose. See for example Maiolica and Victorian majolica Maebhenot (talk) 18:37, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added this link to External links in the article. Since the it raises concerns about whether vials sold as tear catchers represent something that was actually used to catch tears, it would make sense for someone to note the concern in the main article.
