Welsh name

'Sant' is the normal Welsh word for "Saint" but the Welsh name here seems to use the English spelling for some reason (no speakers in the village?), as seen at the source and the town sign visible at its official webpage. — LlywelynII 12:57, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're correct that 'Sant' is the Welsh word for "Saint", but for some reason, in place names, 'Sain' (as in Sain Ffagan) or 'Saint' is used. I've checked https://www.welshlanguagecommissioner.wales/standardised-welsh-place-names which confirms it's 'Saint Hilari' with a link to the OS website. --Rhyswynne (talk) 12:59, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
