Undid changes made by User:Flopsy Mopsy and Cottonmouth as they edited out relevant information which contribute more information to the primary article i.e.article specific citations and references. His arguments that the article is used to sell products is unsubstantiated as it cites competing companies as external links.

This article is balanced and provides relevant information to subject, blanking major parts does disservice to Wikipedia users. Commercial information including manufacturers links gives the article depth and offers the reader competitive examples of the articles' subject. The manufacturers links are all competitors to one another so POV not an issue. Jemesouviens32 (talk) 20:35, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The only material removed was the spam-like text you added, similar in nature to the spam-like material you've added to related articles (all of which served only to highlight the products offered by one particular company). Given your edit history, I'd suggest you avoid adding any similar material without first establishing a strong consensus that it actually benefits the articles in question. --Ckatzchatspy 02:29, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I entirely concur. A while back, he blanked his user talk page, which had the effect of superficially concealing a track record of issues with numerous editors and admins. But these can be viewed by going into the edit history of his talk page. Some of it beggars belief.
I think he is one of those who believes that Wiki pages pass value to the commercial interests he's sought to promote: some IMO very silly. Possibly, someone needs to tell him that, unlike most websites, Wikipedia doesn't: in large measure to discourage those who might seek to misuse it.
In any event, he evidently created this page - like others - for his own commercial reasons. As you've now edited it, it says quite enough about shift knobs, without any need for spam links and references. Bluehotel (talk) 10:57, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge into gear stick

It has been proposed that this page be merged with gear stick. Frankly with the latest merge with the weighted shift knob article, which I do not agree with but can live with, the article has enough weight as is, pun intended. LOL --Jemesouviens32 (talk) 05:42, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and redirect. "Weighted gear shift" "Weighted shift knob" was nothing more than an ad, written by Jemesouviens32, and since deleted and merged here. The text in this article can easily be merged with gear stick as it is a natural fit there. --Ckatzchatspy 05:46, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Keep Ckatz is mistaken there is not such article "Weighted gear shift" and dismissing this article as a stand alone is unwarranted as a shift knob is a user interface that can be personalized, the "gear stick", on the other hand, is a car part full stop. Apples and Oranges. --Jemesouviens32 (talk) 06:00, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, "Weighted shift knob", the now-deleted promotional blurb you wrote that was merged here. Plus, according to what you wrote in the formerly-equally-promotional short shifter, the stick is customizable. Simply put, this can all be easily combined into one factual article, minus any promotional material. --Ckatzchatspy 06:54, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I do not accept your advertising arguments as YOU deleted links [1] that listed manufacturers that COMPETE with each other i.e.

- ==Manufacturers' links==

- * TWM Performance

- * bmracing.com

- * skunk2.com

And yet you left references to Miata and Porsche which are, the last time one checks, somewhat commercial brands. So tell me, Sir, did I write the article to promote Porsche or Mazda? How about Momo (company) which has its own article which also competes with the above, will you propose it for an AfD because it is a company, hence commercially active? Come on Dude, be fair--Jemesouviens32 (talk) 07:33, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge and redirect. Bluehotel (talk) 12:45, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge as a shift knob is a portion of the stick used to shift gears. --Chrismiceli (talk) 01:40, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
