I decided to start a page to attempt to define this genre... With new shows like Heroes (TV series), Jericho (TV series), The Nine (TV series) attempting to cash in on the ratings that Lost (TV series) and 24 (TV series) have enjoyed, I figure it was time to add an article. I would like to try and disambiguate between shows that have elements of a continuing plot but still have self-contained story arcs resolved within an episode like Smallville (or Alias if I'm not mistaken) and shows that have a continuing primary plot that spans many episodes (like Lost, Heroes, Twin Peaks).
