I changed sister-in-law to sister because I can't find anywhere in the movie where it implies she's an in-law. Other sources simply state "John's sister." There's also a joke in the movie that implies she's the biological sister, when Carol says maybe her and John will get married, and Jessica replies, "Don't be revolting," (like it's gross to marry your sister) "...She's married to my uncle Arnold" (just because she thinks it's wrong to remarry, not because she cares Sarah is his biological sister). Also if Arnold is alive and if he were John's brother why don't they talk at all? Sarah is the one helping her brother. I'm sure she isn't the in-law.
