Major media outlets say she is 35, which means she was born in 1973 or prior to November 10, 1972 (the day I'm writing this). --Westendgirl (talk) 06:08, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two points. First, when writing "prior to", it's usually better to just use "before". More likely, you meant "after" in this case anyway. Second, I already made that change in the text, but it was reverted for lack of precision - until we have a definitive source, the current version is sufficient (though changing it to "early 1970s" or some such may be considered). I was the one who reverted the "1973", because we really don't know whether she's had her birthday yet this year -- we can't assume that it's happened already just because it's November. Since more precision seems to be desired, I've changed the birth year to "1972 or 1973", which I think we can say with confidence from the fact that she's 35. --Saforrest (talk) 19:06, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Over on the Village Pump there is a discussion on the senior wikipedia insiders covertly cooperating with a NYTimes initiative to suppress coverage of the kidnapping of NYTimes reporter David Rodhe.

In that discussion there is an assertion that similiar informal blackouts had been in place for the kidnapping of Melissa Fung and Jill Carroll. But I don't see any mention of it. Geo Swan (talk) 06:20, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
