The reference to Appadurai is unclear. It says that the term was used in a text by Appadurai that was published in 1990, but there is no book-length essay by A. that was published that year. Was it an article? It's difficult to say because there is no title specified in the entry. Maybe the reference to Appadurai should be edited out.--213.140.21.227 07:13, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Added a link to Appadurai's 1990 essay.
article needs focus
It's a fuzzy article. Maybe we could just expand on Appadurai's original meaning and forget the poor examples. Bhny (talk) 13:10, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
