How long?

Is there a rule-of-thumb on wikipedia for minimum length of residence to qualify on "notable resident's lists?" I have a nagging feeling that the four years needed to graduate from Cornell or IC are not sufficient to qualify (or else this list would be enourmous, and nearly meaningless).  ??? --Cjs56 01:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that you are correct. 4 years spent at a school doesn't a resident make. Cornell Rockey 21:54, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Horse Flies Didn't the band The Horse Flies hail from here? Anybody have any info on this? Zagubov (talk) 22:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced

Remarkably, this completely unreferenced article survived AfD. Since the AfD decided the topic stays and noted that it should be kept because it could be referenced, I've removed the unreferenced material -- which was the whole list. -- Mikeblas (talk) 14:55, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

reverted WP:POINT should be noted, next time tag with unreferenced. Gnangarra 15:02, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disrupt? I'm just following Wikipedia policy. Should "fact" tags be added to each of these, then? When should the unsubstantiated material finally be removed? -- Mikeblas (talk) 15:13, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
the afd closed according to consensus, blanking a page isnt a reasonable response under the circumstance. If you think that the consensus was wrong, maybe you should take the closure to WP:DRV. Gnangarra 15:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is it your claim that specific unreferenced material should remain in the encyclopedia just because the topic as a whole passes AfD? -- Mikeblas (talk) 15:32, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It easy enough to source, I just did one. why not do some, it'll encourage other editors to do the same instead of arguing. This is a collaborative effort join in the fun and build its more satisfying than deleting. Gnangarra 16:10, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
