Not just Sanskrit

Indic loanwords are not just Sanskrit. There are also Pali, Hindi dialects, and many more. For instance, the Buddhist terms are from Pali, not Sanskrit. It is also not easy to tell which Indic loanwords are Sanskrit, and which are not. — Sagotreespirit (talk) 15:40, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable examples

For some of these words, I wonder if there's an actual connection or someone added them because they sound the same. E.g.

perkosa rape प्रकाश prakāśa shining, manifest, renowned
pria man/men प्रिय priya beloved, dear
