Just realized that when i edited the page I may or may not have inadvertently changed some Japanese characters to question marks.. If I did someone may wish to fix this..

I saw that Kon has never met Rangiku Matsumoto; i was ruffling a few pages of the manga and clearly saw Kon meeting Matsumoto in Ichigo's room and proceeded to be karate chopped by Matsumoto. i'm editing that part out.--Chemicalist 11:25, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Kon (Bleach)?

I think this article should be moved, as proven by some non-Bleach fan's previous edit, and according to Wikipedia guidelines. The character's name is not Kaizō Konpaku, it's simply Kon. That's really the reason. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 17:11, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voice?

Does anyone have an idea on his voice actor? It sounds very much like Michael Lindsay, if not search you tube and look for the part with Kon.

He is voiced by Quinton Flynn in English and Mitsuaki Madono in Japanese. It is so much easier to look up any acting in Film/Television/Video Game on the internet movie database for future reference. imdb.com GWatson • TALK 11:51, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name

I just watched the English dub, and it used "Mod Konpaku" as another name for "Mod Soul(s)", in a half-translated sort of way. The part when Kon asked for his name changed to "Kai" (as in "Kaizo"), changed as well: English-dub Kon wanted his name to be "Mod" instead, or even "Plush Bod Mod". Whatever the case, according to the episode, Ichigo decided to name him something that was not "cool", that being "Kon". (IMHO, Kai did sound the coolest, but that's off-topic.) --Geopgeop 08:44, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was watching the opening credits again for Season 1 on adult swim when I noticed in the background on the wall in spray paint was written "King O Nyo"(KON) and an image of Kon above it. Nyo is a Japanese Buddhist term for "the ultimate nature of all things". GWatsonTALK 11:38, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but why is it notable?—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 15:54, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is quite common practice for characters in anime to have a name which means something, often suggesting something about their personality or appearance. --Muna 17:57, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, we already know it's Kaizō Konpaku. Why is its meaning as "gold" important, though? Just because he's yellow?—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 17:59, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah, we already know it's Kaizō Konpaku.

That's not what I mean - he is commonly known as Kon, but while it is a shortened version of another name, that doesn't mean the nickname itself wasn't intended to possess a meaning of its own. The fact that he is indeed yellow indicates that it is possible, but what I'm actually wondering is whether it's mentioned in the manga or in some other official source. If it is intentional, then it should be noted, as is done in other articles (like School Days, for example). --Muna 18:27, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who created the Mod Souls?

Is there anything in the cannon which would indicate the creator of Mod Souls? Kisuke Urahara in the anime is able to come up with three besides Kon, but never seems to indicate any pride in creating them. Mayuri Kurotsuchi is known to be a master at making gikon as exhibited by Nemu Kurotsuchi, and heartlessly calling for the full destruction of a failed experiment seems up his alley. Does anyone have anything better than this conjecture?--Wowaconia 08:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's once again, anime-only, but if I recall correctly from the Bount -arc, weren't Rantao and her fellow scientists working on something akin to the mod souls? Other than that, I think it's fairly credible to say Mayuri might be the one who perfected the technology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Petrim (talkcontribs) 22:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anime Only

Kon/Ichigo kicking Shinigami Ichigo in the class rom is anime only Kon just ran away in the Manga --68.160.181.246 18:12, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed that Kon has a soft spot in his heart for little girls. When Ichigo suddenly dissapeared training with Vizard, Ichigo's little sister Uzu was crying in bed while hugging Kon, quote "How can you do this to a poor little girl, Ichigo"

Also in Ep. 135 of the anime, in an alternate body - Shintaro, he has prevented the little girl from crying by playing along stuffing his mouth with 'food', and gone to lengths to protect her from the hollow that appeared.

Do you wish to add this side of Kon's character, besides his 'pervertedness'??

Kon is shown in the anime (and the manga), from time to time, to have an interesting personality and surprising strenght of character under his comic relief -status, it's kind of sad we don't really get to see it. Maybe some day in the future but I doubt it. Anyway, I kinda feel something should be said about his better qualities in the article.. --Petrim (talk) 22:54, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kon's "other" name

Shouldn't there be a reference to the name that Ichigo's sister, Yuzu, calls Kon? You know, "Gustov". DrSlump 13:31, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's the name of the toy. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 22:13, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it Bostof? Which she thinks is a girls name for some reason. I think it should be mentioned. Antisora 11:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've seen it translated as "Boss Tuff" too.

POSUTAFU!

I believe there are both manga chapters and anime episodes where the name in katakana is clearly seen. I just can't find anything at the moment. If someone remembers the episodes where he was with Yuzu a lot, please post them. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 17:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

His ear bandage

Shouldn't we add that Yuzu damaged Kon's left ear? And that he greatly fears Yuzu and Chad?

Kon and the Grand Fisher

he didn't run into the Grand Fisher, it was an an Arrancar. Ultimaterasengan 00:56, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A rose by any other name still smells the same. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 02:15, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was the Grand Fisher, Uruhara even commented on Isshin avenging his wife's death.Antisora 11:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was Grand Fisher, he ascended to Arrancar form since he was first show earlier in the series. He found Kon by coincidence and mistook him for Ichigo since he was in Ichigo's body. :)
