- While the player did indeed play for Preston North End, and was a member of the Invincibles who won the inaugural Football League, he also played for several notable clubs in Scotland such as Partick, not to be confused with Partick Thistle, who he also played for and Glasgow Rnagers: http://thethistlearchive.wikidot.com/jock-inglis
- This player has, through his ties to Preston North End's 1888-89 League and Cup double-winning squad, a unique place in the history of Association Football - as well as to my own club, Partick Thistle FC in its early years:
