Cambridge Colleges
The term 'hill college' isn't used of Cambridge colleges. I've been a member of Fitzwilliam for fourteen years, and I've never heard the expression used. I know it's real in Durham, but it just isn't used in Cambridge.

- It is interesting that you should mention Fitzwilliam. The original supplier of the Cambridge information was 128.232.239.63 (talk · contribs), who also edited Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge and which is an IP address assigned to the university. So perhaps others at Fitzwilliam know differently. ☺ Uncle G (talk) 08:53, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- In my experience it is used when there is a need to refer to all of the colleges on Castle Hill. Fitz's own website refers to the college as a hill college and would be useful as a reference if someone adds the Cambridge bit again. Cambridge terminology can be quite fickle: it seems to fall in and out of fashion due to high coupling to social groups (for example, I know nobody at Fitz that uses the term "bedder").
