The 1870 census lists Morlacchi as 25 years old, and her sister Angelina as 28. That would put Giuseppina born in 1845-1846 and Angelina in 1842-1843. Both of their gravestones are marked a decade older - 1836 for Giuseppina and 1833 for Angelina. The Massachusetts death record lists Giuseppina's age at death as 40 years old, consistent with the 1846 date. Angelina's obituary in the August 20, 1885 Boston Globe lists her age at death as 42, consistent with an 1843 date of birth. The 1880 Census gives Angelina's age as 39, which would indicate a 1840-1841 birthdate.
The first reference I find to Giuseppina is in the London Morning Post of March 23, 1857, which says that she is making her first appearance at Her Majesty's Theatre. If she was born in 1846, she would be making this appearance at the age of 10, which seems unlikely, considering she is said to have toured throughout the continent prior to her appearance in London. I've seen the birth year listed as 1836, 1842, and 1846. Hard to know at this point which is correct. KidCharlem (talk) 21:56, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In the references Logan claims 1846, not sure if that was a typo, but Barker, Enss and her gravestone say 1836. So I changed the birth year from 1846 to 1836, because that seems to be the consensus. BaomoVW (talk) 20:39, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
